One week til BI

One week from today the first of us will arrive on the block. Here are some photos from 2007. Christine suggested that we think of some new activities for this year. We came up with more happy hours!

Hope all are doing well and getting excited about this years trip. John and I thought we would start the countdown with some past photos. We will bring the albums from years past to look at during the week.

Block Island Timeline

Before moving, I was going through all of my photo albums and realized that I have few or no photos for some years on Block Island. In order to figure out which years I am missing photos, I tried to construct a time line for Block Island.

I have put stars by the years which need photos. Please help me to correct or add information to the time line. Also, if you could check your own pictures from Block Island and see if you have some from the missing years.

BI 09 Katherine's Hike

Today, Katherine, Kellie, John and Jim went on a hike on the southwest corner of the island off of Dickens Farm Road. We tried to get to the trail that goes through Dicken's Farm Preserve, but there was a giant puddle across the whole road with no way around. We had a good adventure on several other hiking trails, but as you can see we retraced our steps several times. We saw several impressive hawks as we hiked through a basin area and a turtle on the main road. On one of the roads we saw the foundations of some early Block Island buildings. In the future, we hope it will be dry enough to do the hike we originally planned.
